A bit of Insanity

Monday the girls were out of school for MLK day. Reese woke up with a fever and runny nose. Off to the doctor...no ear infection, just a bug. Hadlee started feeling bad, as well. Long day. Tuesday Reese woke up with a fever, again. No gymnastics for these girls today. We played and laid around all day. My poor girls just weren't themselves, but thankfully they felt better by the end of the day. Wednesday- No fever...Wooo HOOO! Off to school we go.  I went to the grocery store and decided to make chicken corn chowder. Should have done this while the girls were still at school! We started making soup at 4pm.

The girls love to help cook. Here they are stirring cornbread.
It's a serious job, and a battle of the forks between these two!

Taking a little break from cooking to remove
all the pillows off the couch and act like wild monkeys
This really annoys mom. but it keeps them busy!
At 6pm dinner was finally ready. Two hour soup, who would have ever thought? The soup was great. The girls said "NO" and demanded mac n' cheese. Haynes started making Mac. I poured myself another glass of wine and ate with these two cute monkeys on my lap...while they had a tea party! If you're a mom...you're definitely a great multi-tasker!

Thursday we woke up to snow and ice. This is usually the day we run around or go to The Aquarium. Looks like another day at home. This makes for a very long week. We played dress up, had a few tea parties and fed our baby dolls! And Daddy took Mommy out to dinner while Had and Reese spent a little time with DiDi and Pop:)

On Friday I was thrilled at the thought of running errands and cleaning up the house while the girls were at Mother's Day Out. Sadly, the joke was on me! After rushing around to get the girls to school, I pulled in the parking lot....there was not a car in sight. I thought at that moment, I might start to cry. School was closed due to the roads. AHHHH! Say it's not so. Off to Target to play around, and luckily our friend's Erin and Caroline called to have a play date! Wow, what a crazy week. I was definitely ready for the weekend!
